Best Clarifying Shampoos

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has solved my psoriasis problem I have had psoriasis of the scalp since I was a teenager, and the only products that seemed to tame this were selenium based products that were horrible to used and made my hair and hands smell horrible. I tried using this after a chat with a trichologist, and it worked. My psoriasis no longer bothers me, and it slowly comes back if I stop using the shampoo. It can dry your hair out, but I have short hair, and this is not a massive issue for me, but if using on longer hair you will need a decent conditioner as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love Been using this a while now and I love it. I have fine hair that can look greasy easily. This really helps. I also have a sensitive scalp from years of box-dye abuse, and this doesnt irritate it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This made my hair more oily :-( I was so excited to try this shampoo and have been using this for 6 weeks (hoping that my hair just needed some time to get used to it) and it has actually made my roots even more oily than the shampoo I was using before that was about a sixth of the price, really disappointed:-(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Aveda Rosemary shampoo My holy discovery for oily roots and healthy scalp and hair. Before I used this shampoo my hair was shedding quite a lot and whatever treatment I was doing it was not working properly because scalp was not feeling cleaned. Definitely a good quality product with clean ingredients.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing I REALLY wanted to like this shampoo, but unfortunately my hair has become increasingly dry - even after experimenting with using the conditioner just on the ends and also from root to tip. My hairdresser recommended buying more expensive shampoo and washing my hair once a week instead of more frequently. After my haircut I left it a week (which was tough!), and washed with an eco shampoo bar (to avoid my high-street ordinary shampoos that my hairdresser advised against) that ordinarily didn't do anything great, but it was amazing! My hair looked like it had always 'just been brushed', very full and shiny. I knew that the bar wasn't great for the long term, so I took the hair quiz on the Aveda website and bought this Rosemary and Mint shampoo and conditioner. I was really hoping the same thing would happen again. It has been so disappointing. My hair is now so dry. I chose this shampoo as I live in an area with hard water and thought the purifying aspect would help. Also the shampoo my hairdresser used at my haircut was of a similar variety designed to focus on cleaning your hair, but it was aloe vera and mint by Kevin Murphy. I have been washing my hair only once a week, using the conditioner as well, and I use hair oil on the ends of my hair and to tame fly-aways. I don't know what to do! I have these huge litre bottles now.

Has anyone used this with dyed hair? Thinking of getting it but I am having Balayage done this weekend. Have seen one review about it stripping someone colour but was wondering if that was a one off. Thanks :)

I have coloured hair and have not had a problem with this shampoo. I think it’s quite mild and it smells lovely. Leaves hair feeling clean and soft: I have very fine blonde hair.
