Nice set but too rich
I was really looking forward to using this set as I had heard great things about Curel. The item sizes are small but they did last me for 2 weeks, a little goes a long way with the moisturiser! Unfortunately these products were just too rich for my normal type skin so caused me to feel oily in the day. This set would be great if you have really dry skin!!

Ideal introduction to the Curel system - it'll make a believer out of you.
Who knows why, but in recent months my skin decided that it hated me. Dry, flaking, scaly and reddened to the point of cracking around the nose, cheeks and forehead; so sensitive that even micellar water stung (I tried my glycolic acid toner and actually cried a bit); and to cap it off, acne type spots everywhere. All the skincare woes I managed to avoid in my teens seemed to have merged and landed on me in my early 30s. I couldn't even put foundation on to cover things up as no matter how much I cleansed and moisturised, the flakes just showed right through. I was so worried that I even spoke to a nurse, but they couldn't come up with a reason for it. Thoroughly depressing.
A friend swears by Curel, so I bought the trial kit. I was so eager to get started that I dove right into the full routine and didn't even bother to patch test. Usually a bad skincare move, but my skin was already all kinds of messed up so I figured what was the worst that could happen?
As someone who's used to 10 step regimes, the routine is a total breeze. Gel cleanser onto dry skin then rinse. Foam cleanser onto wet skin then rinse (I use a very soft konjac sponge at this stage for a little extra exfoliation). Top tip - if you've got particularly flaky skin, then once you've rinsed the foam cleanser, while your skin is still damp, gently rub the flaky patches with your fingertips. The dry, dead skin will slough right off, leaving you a lot smoother. It's gross but kinda amazing to see what comes away. Once you've dried; use any actives in your routine, then tap the lotion on, top with the moisturiser, and you're done. Just remember to add an SPF after the morning routine.
So the results. Well, Curel has been a total game changer. After a month of twice daily use, my skin improved dramatically. The redness is all but gone, there's a hell of a lot less flaking, blemishes are finally disappearing, and best of all, my skincare routine finally isn't painful. Not one step of this routine stings my skin. My face looks and feels much more hydrated and I can finally wear foundation without flakes showing through. The only issue I've found is that it is slightly comedogenic, likely due to how moisturising it is, but now I've factored in some actives from The Ordinary after cleansing (hyaluronic acid in the morning to still damp skin, and rotating PM application of lactic acid, vitamin c suspension, and retinoid emulsion) this has been taken care of. To be honest, a few blackheads are a small price to pay for how hydrated my skin is now - it's looking better than it has in years.
Seriously - try this kit out. If you're anything like me, you'll be singing Curel's praises on the internet in no time.

I can't say enough good things about this! All the items in the kit are worth while using, specially the face wash, it's fabulous! The only tiny niggle was the size of the cream. I'd have loved a bigger pot to try, although a little does go a long long way of this product. If you're wanting a system for whatever your skin type (bar really oily) then this is the one. The makeup remover is particularly good for a double cleanse. Go on, try it!

Great way to trial as a potential skincare regime with enough product to last more than 2 weeks excluding the moisturiser, the Gel Cleanser is really nice to use and feels great on the skin, I would 100% repurchase full size of this on its own. The foam cleanser wasn't anything special but I'mnot particularlya fan of foam cleansers. The facial lotion is really runny & you need triple the amount stated on the instructions, this could be down to poor bottle/dispenser desgn for the trial size though as each splash was more like a droplet, it would be more effective in a spray bottle as once you put a few drops into your palm it dissipates so quickly that you aren't transferring much onto your face (like having a few drops of water in your palm that you are attempting to quickly pat into your skin). The moisturiser was nowhere near enough to last 2 weeks, it's such a small pot and the texture is far too light to the point of feeling like your skin had not actually been moisturised. I needed to use an additional moisturiser, when used in combination (or too quickly after applying) the lotion the texture of it alters and goes from being light to claggy which felt really odd and unpleasant.
However it is important to note this was purchased in an attempt to repair my damaged skin barrier as it was marketed as being hydrating and replenishing ceramides. It may be better suited for normal/dry skin type rather than dry skin condition.

This is Amazing!
I have been curious about this brand for a while, therefore I purchased this trial kit. It’s the perfect size and has enough products to use for long enough to know if it works for you. I have been using for quite sometime now, This line is Wonderful ! It is especially perfect for dry skin but I think it would work for any skin type. Love it!
