A Vibrant Classic
From the very first spray, when the Violet burst forth and infused the air with aromatic brightness, I knew I needed a bottle of Après L’Ondée in my life. However, as the powdery floral note of Violet began to change, a hint of a distinctly spicy note, which I have come to associate with Carnation, emerged. The Carnation note was my reason for wanting to smell Après L’Ondée in the first place. And with their shared notes of Violet, Carnation, and Iris, I was reminded of L’Heure Bleue, albeit of her softly delicate older sister. If Après L’Ondée is the time After the Rain, then that time is beautifully fragrant and vibrantly classic.

Gorgeousness in the rain....after the rain...
I have a bottle of the older version, but I am now having to pull the trigger and get the new formulation. To which I have no hesitations to do. They are keeping true to the spirit of these fragrances I adore. I don't reach for this often, but I do wear it in the spring and early summer. It's so feminine and no real words can describe the comfort and inner peace you feel while it wafts around you. Please do try to find a sample. I find that this line is a bit more long wearing that the original versions. 10/10

Nicely done.
I've long loved this fragrance, and this current formulation has better staying power than the "bee bottle" I bought a few years back. I appreciate the fact that Guerlain respects and maintains their heritage fragrances, such as Mitsouko, L'Heure Bleu, Shalimar, etc.

Unusual and beautiful
This is a beautiful scent. I have heard it described as haunting and melancholic. It is aptly named - it does give you the sense of smelling the air "after the rain." It has a distinct character. It may not appeal to all. But if you love it you won't want to be without it. This purchase was for a back up bottle.

Consider Floral but Beautifully Gourmand
Many consider this to be colorfully floral due to substantial notes of purple flowers like Iris and Violets; but to me this is beautifully gourmand with spices such as anise and cassia-cinnamon, and well as sweet noted of vanilla and heliotrope( akin to almond), conjuring up the taste of macarons instead of a garden 'after the rain' or 'apres l'ondee'.
One of my favorite fragrances now treated in the heart stopper bottle.
