In the 1950's, the Guerlain family decided to create a fragrance based on the surprising roots of vetiver.

After a few trials, the Guerlain Perfumer succeeded in making a subtle dosage that recalls the exhalations of the earth in the pale dawn light. This evocation of the world's first morning is enriched with a woody accord and the refined elegance of spices and tobacco to give rise to a rare and sophisticated fragrance.

With its modern geometry and rigorous shapes, Vétiver is an ever-fashionable figure of authentic French elegance.

I gave him the Vetiver cologne anyway for Christmas because he loved the scent. He was happy with it to use as a cologne. It has a clean, woodsy-herbal scent that is very nice.

The original design fit perfectly in the palm of the hand to make spraying accurate and easy. This bottle is bulky and awkward and HEAVY! I have been wearing the fragrance for 50 years - thanks God you didn’t change the scent!
