Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t purchase! I have always used GHDs and when my last pair came the the end of their life I purchased the new Platinum plus straighteners. When using them your hair gets snagged between the plates and the plastic and breaks your hair. Unable to use due to the hair damage they cause. Do not buy!

I first bought a GHD straightener in 2016 after being abroad in Europe and a friend recommending it to me because of the universal voltage - I immediately bought the GHD Marine Allure Styler. It has done me well the last 8 years, but I wanted to upgrade so I bought this straightener and it does not disappoint. I thought the heat up time of my old straightener was already fast but this one was even faster. It straightens evenly and quickly so that I don’t have to pass the straightener over my hair more than twice. The only thing I didn't love was the noise to turn on and turn off the straightener. It sounded a bit outdated which I was shocked since I particularly liked the start up noise of the allure styler. Thankfully the noise has nothing to do with how the straightener actually functions so I would still fully recommend this to anyone. My old straightener is still running perfectly and now in the hands of my mother who absolutely loves it given the upgrade from her non-ghd straightener.

The platinum ones heat up very fast and straighten in one swipe. My hair remains friz free till my next wash. I use nothing but GHD for my hair styling tools - hairdryer, hot brush, brushes, heat styler…l love them all!

No hair being pulled out while straightening & it takes a lot less time to straighten my hair now in comparison with my old straightener
