Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can I use this on dark ginger hair? I have bought this shampoo but I am worried about using it because I don't know if it will have an effect on my hair colour. My hair is a dark ginger, with brown underneath, but with blond natural highlights. Will this shampoo have an effect on my lighter hair tones?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I agree with others.. perfection destroyed Like the other one star reviews I agree that the original version (from 4 or 5 years ago) was perfect. This is horrible. Lank, itchy, greasy and unpleasant to use plus unmanageable. Please bring back the original (not the 'original' in the purple packing but the 'old-old' one..the one with the coconutty aroma! )

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Used to love it I used to love Brilliant Brunette, from the shiny color to the beautiful smell it used to have. I had used it from the first year it came out until 2-3 years ago when they changed the scent to this awful perfume-y one. I can’t stand and can’t handle that perfume-laden smell and my face reacts allergic to it. Praying for the day they change it back to the beautiful original scent...crushed pearl and something.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The juice worth the squeeze? This is a great product. I’ve used it for years and consistently receive compliments on my hair. But something changed. The shampoo is difficult to squeeze out of the flip top. I have to screw off the cap to avoid a hand cramp trying to get the shampoo out. I noticed different caps on the bottles or different bottle styles over the years, but this current cap is not good.

I've very dark brown hair and want to stop dying my hair, does this shampoo cover grey hairs?

Asked by: Maria
Hi, The John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Colour Protect Moisturising Shampoo is designed to enhance the your hair colour, but cannot colour the hair itself. This means the product will not be powerful enough like a hair dye to colour hair. For hair that is more than 50 percent gray A blonde shade is often a better choice than going dark. As it grows out, your gray hair will blend in with lighter hair, whereas it will stand out against a darker shade. Hope this helps! Thanks Katie, Beauty Expert.
