Pha

Polyhydroxy Acids (PHAs) are chemical exfoliants - the most common members of this acid family are Gluconolactone, Galactose, and Lactobionic Acid. PHAs work by exfoliating surface level skin cells, resulting in a more even skin tone and texture, and also help skincare ingredients penetrate deeper into the layers of your skin, thus boosting their efficacy. Compared to other exfoliating acids (BHAs and AHAs), PHAs are gentle giants with much larger molecules and therefore cannot penetrate as deeply; they work exclusively on the surface of the skin so they are less likely to cause irritation.
