NYE Makeup Inspo:

High Gloss Red Lips

We don't know if a night out is on the cards (or if we're even up for it) but one thing we do know is we’ll ALWAYS celebrate a statement look. This NYE, we're going bold - even if we’re staying home. Discover how to recreate this high gloss (and high glam) lip look with Lime Crime and Beauty Bakerie.

Get the look

1. Start with your base by gently pressing in the Butter Primer. Use the warmth of your fingers to give the best payoff. This will hydrate the skin whilst giving you a flawless canvas.

2. Apply InstaBake Aqua Glass Foundation using a Blending Egg. TIP: these are best used damp. It will ensure a softer bound to the face and stops the egg from absorbing too much of your foundation.

3. Go in with the 3-in-1 InstaBake Concealer around the eye area, forehead and chin, as well as any blemishes you want to hide. TIP: use the concealer just in the inner corner and upwards in line with the cheekbone on the outer eye, this will give a lifting effect to the eye shape.

4. Set your base using Flour Setting Powder to instantly mattify and blur – use a small detail brush to ensure even coverage.

5. Take the Bushy Brow Strong Hold Gel in Clear and brush eyebrow hairs upwards, pressing down to ensure you get right into the roots. This will create volume and give the look of a thicker, healthier brows. Then, apply Bushy Brow Precision Pen in Baby Brown - the ultra fine brush creates fine, hair-like strokes to fill in those sparse areas.

6. Using the Venus XL 2 Eye Palette, blend the shade Classical all over the eyelid up to the crease. Be sure to pack on the pigment to make it bold and smokey. Buff out the edges with a super fluffy brush and depending on the shape you'd prefer, keep it round or elongate at the edges. Using a smaller pencil brush, take the eyeshadow underneath the bottom lash line for a dramatic smokey eye.

7. Continuing with your eyes, take your finger and rotate into the shade West. This is a gorgeous creamy metallic that packs a punch when it comes to pigment. Press it on top of the Classical shade you just applied.

8. Take a different clean finger and do the same with the shade Phoenix. When applying this one, try to stay more in the centre of the eyelid to really give a pop of lighter brown.

9. Next, take the Astronomical Volumising Mascara in the shade Supernova and generously apply to your top and bottom lashes. Give the lashes body and length, and layer if you prefer.

10. Now for the lips. To start, gently massage a small amount of Sugar Lip Scrub in circular motions to remove any dead skin and soften your pout.

11. Next, swipe on Velvetine Matte Lipstick in Red Velvet  - on layer should be enough as it's super pigmented. If layering, don't apply more than two layers to ensure it remains lightweight and comfy all night long.

11. For the high gloss effect, apply Wet Cherry Gloss in Maraschino Cherry. This gives a gorgeous wet look and plump finish to the lips.

12. To finish, spritz the Spray Your Grace setting spray to fix your look in place, and there you have it! You're ready to enter the New Year with a full face of glossy lipped-glam. Roll on 2022...
