The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is a 10-minute exfoliating facial.

With 30% Alpha Hydroxyl Acids (Glycolic/Lactic/Tartaric/Citric), 2% Beta Hydroxyl Acid (Salicylic Acid), Hyaluronic Acid Crosspolymer, Vitamin B5, Black Carrot and Tasmanian Pepperberry.

Alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA) exfoliate the skin's topmost surface for a brighter and more even appearance. Beta hydroxyl acids (BHA) also exfoliate the skin with an extended function to help clear pore congestion. This combined 32% AHA/BHA solution offers deeper exfoliation to help fight visible blemishes and for improved skin radiance. The formula also improves the appearance of skin texture and reduces the look of fine lines with continued use.

This formula contains a studied Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative to help reduce irritation associated with acid use. This derivative is of plant origin and varies in colour seasonally and this colour variation may be apparent in the formula from time to time. This formula is further supported with a crosspolymer form of hyaluronic acid for comfort, Vitamin B5 to assist healing and black carrot as an antioxidant.

This pH of this formula is approximately 3.6. Glycolic Acid, the primary AHA used in the formula, has a pKa of 3.6 and pKa is the most important aspect to consider in formulating with acids. pKa implies acid availability. When pKa is close to pH, there is an ideal balance between salt and acidity, maximising effectiveness of the acid and reducing irritation. Higher pH numbers in such a case would increase salt which counter-intuitively would make the formula even more irritating than if the formula was more acidic.

Alcohol-free, nut-free, gluten-free, soy-free, vegan.

Directions

Use ideally in the PM, no more frequently than twice per week. Clean face and wait for skin to dry. Do not use on wet skin. Apply evenly across face and neck using your fingertips. Leave on for no more than 10 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes both during application and rinse off. This low-viscosity solution is intended to be used as a masque. Do not leave on for longer than 10 minutes. If persistent irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician.

This formula contains a very high concentration of free acids. We recommend use only if you are an experienced user of acid exfoliation and your skin is not sensitive. Contraindications: this formula should not be used on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. Use only as directed. Contact of the product with the skin must be of limited frequency or duration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use it multiple times a week! I have always struggled with acne and now that I am close to 30 I was tired of continuing to struggle with it. I suffer from fungal acne and recently cystic hormonal acne. I use this 3-4 times a week and I have extremely sensitive skin. Anything and everything will break me out. Since I started this product my skin is like glass. No active acne and fungal acne is GONE. I also use the hydronic 2% as well and have really loved that. This product is perfect for gentle exfoliation. I have nothing but wonderful things to say. It stings when it goes on and feels a tad bit itchy and uncomfortable but when washed off your skin will be so soft. I do not leave it on for more than 5-10 minutes! LOVE LOVE LOVE this product:

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Takes time to see a difference but works great! I’m really inconsistent with this product - don’t use it regularly enough HOWEVER, this time using it my skin feels AMAZING! I think I was expecting it to be a one use “shock and awe” type of product but it isn’t - you need to follow instructions and use it consistently to see results. (Which is much safer eh?) Also it says on the tin (so to speak) that this product is for experienced acid users - so don’t buy it if you haven’t been used to using acid. Personally I find a slight tingle but no redness after use. No sensitivity for which I’m grateful. I’m 49 with a few lines and aging texture creeping in…but this combats that for me! Love it - please don’t change it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I was gifted this product during christmas because I really wanted to try it. I have combination skin and cystic acne. My skin is pretty tough when it comes to harsh products because it has become pretty used to it, so irritation hasn't been a problem for me. This product is a great weekly refresher, I am using a skin treatment twice daily so I haven't been able to exfoliate my skin as much as I need. So I just use this and wait a day until I use that treatment again. This product made my skin feel super smooth, it stripped all of the dead skin off of my face leaving it feeling very clean and it definitely helped de-clog my pores. Will repurchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Results I started using this about 3 weeks ago. After the first use my coworkers started asking me what I have done to my skin and commenting on how great it looked. Of course I shared my secret! I use other products for retinol and moisturizing but am seriously considering switching to Ordinary regime. Very impressed. Makes my 65 year old face look clean clear and radiant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUY IT NOWW!! I must say that at first I was a little scared to use this product, because I was new with this “skincare” thing, so I kept it in my room without using it. Then I saw a tiktok about how to use it , and it’s quite simple, I used it and the morning after my skin was madly perfect. It was not red anymore and even if I was not someone who perfectly knew how to use it, it worked and it didn’t made any damage to my skin, so buy it because it’s not that expensive and it’s crazy

How many drops should you use when applying?

Asked by: Sophie
I don't count drops but instead I pipette it straight on the face making 2 inch lines... one on the forehead, one diagonally down each cheek, on vertically down the nose, one across the chin and a bit above my lip. I think it works out about two pipettes full. I then gently rub in circular motions ensuring not to get any under the eye area. Sorry for the bad explanation... I hope that makes sense a little bit!

Hi, Can i use a hydrating product after the peeling? Thanks, Irati

Asked by: Irati
Hi, When I use this I follow it with a hydrating toner (I use Elemis Apricot toner), then a hyaluronic acid serum (I use The Ordinary). I leave that for 10 minutes then apply a moisturiser (with an SPF if it's daytime). Hope this helps :)

Hi, After using this, can i use a retinoid or retinol toner?   Or can is it safe to use the retinoid or retinol toner before the niacinimide and zinc?  I have a really bad acne prone skin and it’s depressing!

Asked by: Angelica
As you wash this off, there is no deactivation so yes you can use a retinol after however beware of irritation as always when using retinols

The brand advise to use a sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. This means we would not recommend going in the sun after using the product. Can I use lactic acid or retinoid after using this? Thanks

Asked by: Natasha
Hi, Thanks for reaching out to us. The brand advise the following: "A customer can use the The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and then they should be able to use any of our Granactive Retinoid formulas afterwards without any problems. If they were using a retinol, it might be advisable to not use them on the same night just in case they experience irritation. We wouldn’t recommend using the lactic acid at all with the AHA peel as they are both exfoliating options and doing so risks over-exfoliating the skin, so we would recommend to use EITHER the peel OR the lactic acid formula." I hope this helps! Thanks, Chloe - Beauty Expert

My hand have some pigmentationnon their and have slightly beckme damadhed because im always cleaning and working.. can inuse this on my hands

Asked by: Bushra
Hi, Thanks for reaching out to us. The brand advises the following: "This product is not officially tested for use on the hands, so it should be used on this area at the customers discretion. As it hasn't been tested for use on the hands, we cannot claim that this product is safe for use on that area, however, logically it should be fine as skin on our hands tends to be thicker and less sensitive that skin on our face." I hope this helps! Thanks, Chloe - Beauty Expert
