Vitamin C is an effective antioxidant that brightens the skin tone and reduces the appearance of signs of aging.

The Ordinary 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder offers a very fine L-Ascorbic Acid powder that visibly targets the appearance of uneven skin tone, dullness, and signs of aging and is formulated to be mixed with other treatments (except those containing Niacinamide or EUK 134).

The format of this formula is a suspension of very fine L-Ascorbic Acid powder and, as such, provides the most direct exposure of extremely high concentrations of Vitamin C topically. With such format, a very strong tingling but non-irritating sensation is expected during the first 1-2 weeks of use until the skin's tolerance to such high exposure is elevated.

If topical Vitamin C is used as part of skincare, it should be applied at alternate times with EUK 134 or Niacinamide (ideally Vitamin C in the PM and EUK 134/Niacinamide in the AM). Otherwise, EUK 134/Niacinamide can affect the integrity of pure-form Vitamin C (L-Ascorbic Acid).

This formula is water-free, alcohol-free, nut-free, gluten-free and vegan.

Directions

Mix a small amount with other treatments in the palm of your hand and apply to face in the AM or the PM. A tingling sensation can be expected after application. Do not mix with formulations containing Niacinamide or EUK 134.

Ascorbic Acid.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Like fake tan -AWFUL I have been using this product for years. It does the job very well, except that it turns your face orange/fake tan color. I was wondering for years why i look tanned, although I wear my sunscreen every single day. So, a few days ago, I read an article stating that cosmetics with Vit c can create that awful color on the face. Deciem, what do you think about that? PS. Same effect with Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Assistance required Hi. So far my experience is fine but I am writing here to make the experience an excellent one. Mixing the LAAP has resulted in small pimples, mixing it with HA has been ok. I recently bought NIOD Survival 0. I was wondering if LAAP can be mixed with NIOD Survival 0 ? Will it enhance the effectiveness ? Any drawbacks ? Any tips for a better experience ? Note: I know about precautions regarding using LAAP & am trying to follow them meticulously :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sharing how I use this 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder mixing the powder with 99% (golden) aloe gel from www.aloeveraaustralia.com.au, just enough amount to finish the preparation immediately. It cannot be stored because vitamin C starts oxidizedas soon as it dissolved

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brightened Even Skin Tone! I've been using this for a couple of months now and I already see my hyperpigmentation fading. After showering, I mix one fresh scoop into my moisturizer and mix it in the palm of my hand each night and I apply this to my face and decollete. I repeat this mixture and apply it to my genitals and up my crack. I wash my hands then I repeat this mixture one last time and apply it to my hands and elbows. I use linens, pillow cases, undergarments, and clothing that I don't mind staining orange, as l-ascorbic acid naturally oxidizes and it's a fair price to pay for healthy, glowing skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good staple in my skincare routine I love this product so much. Great price point, easy to use and helps my face glow. I just have one question how can I combine this with: Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%, Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% serum and Niacinamide 10%- Zinc 1%? I would like to use Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%, Multi-Peptide + Copper Peptides 1% serum and Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% daily (morning and evening)? I work from home so I can make sure their are breaks in between using a product on my skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems Great I accidentally have been using this morning and night, but I really love it. I feel like my face just seems brighter, and mixed with my Matrixyl + HA, my face has a great feel to it. Maybe I will try using it just at night, and seeing if my skin looks even better, since apparently I was going overboard with it. The powder mixes very nicely with the Matrixyl + HA, no complaints of gittiness or white residue on my face like I've seen from other reviews.

can I mix this with my DHC Coenzyme Q10 moisture gel in AM and Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Solution 20% in Vitamin F in PM. I have Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane and Lactic Acid 5% + HA. Please advice which I can use and when with Buffet copper peptide

Asked by: Saffi
Hey there, For products that aren’t from The Ordinary unfortunately we won’t be able to advise on whether it’s safe to mix their Q10 moisturiser with any of their products as they haven’t been tested for this. We would also recommend the below options for you: AM: Buffet + Copper Peptides Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate 20% *if desired* PM 1: Buffet * copper peptides Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate 20% PM 2: Lactic acid 5% Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate Hope this helps! Many thanks Katie, Beauty Expert.

Hi, I notice the comments re not mixing it with Odrinary Buffet. I currently mix it with Clinique for Men Hydrator. However, i have been applying this over Buffet serum am and pm. Is it ok as long as I'm not physically mixing the powder with Buffet?

Asked by: Ian
Hi there, Thanks for reaching out to us. The brand advises the following: "For the The Ordinary 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder, we would advise not using it in the same routine as the The Ordinary 'Buffet' for best results, so I’d recommended not using it in the AM. For best results we’d recommend using the The Ordinary 'Buffet' in the AM and then the powder mixed with the moisturiser in the PM." I hope this helps! Thanks, Chloe - Beauty Expert

Hi, am wondering why this and any other of the vit c products from the ordinary can not be mixed with peptides ie buffet and matrixly? As there are loads of single products on the market with both in them. Cant seem to find an answer anywhere. Thanks

Asked by: Roisin
Hi there, The reason The Ordinary suggest to alternate pure and ethylated forms of vitamin C with peptides is that the acidic nature of the vitamin C can hydrolyse (break down) the peptides and thereby compromising their efficacy. With regards to other brands, they can't officially comment on other products, but from theirknowledge they would imagine that other products that combine the two perhaps use a derivative of vitamin C (which do not break down peptides) instead of pure vitamin C. The way to check this would be to look on the ingredients list. If it lists "ascorbic acid" then it is pure vitamin C, and if it is something like sodium ascorbate, ascorbyl glucoside or magnesium ascorbyl phosphate then it will be a derivative. Hope this helps! What "other treatments" can this product be mixed with?

Asked by: Stesha
Hi there, The Ordinary 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder, it can be mixed with most water-based serums or moisturisers from The Ordinary. The ones the customer should definitely avoid would be the following: Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Buffet Buffet + Copper Peptides 1% Matrixyl 10% + HA Argireline Solution 10% We would also advise against mixing it with any of our direct acids or retinoid products unless your skin is super hyper non-sensitive! The Ordinary highly recommend the Natural Moisturising Factors + HA or the Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. They could also use an oil, although the powder will not dissolve in oil and so therefore may feel slightly gritty! Hope this helps. Thanks Katie, Beauty Expert.
