Found in grains, Azelaic Acid is produced naturally by yeast that lives on normal skin. It brightens the skin tone while visibly improving the evenness of skin texture and reducing the look of blemishes. It is a multi-functional support ingredient for all skin types and also acts as an effective antioxidant. This formula offers a very high 10% concentration of high-purity Azelaic Acid in a lightweight cream-gel system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from effective multitasker This product is a staple. It really cuts down on redness, helped me tackle acne, and I think makes me a little less oily. I recommended it to a friend who had a similarly positive experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Introduction to The Ordinary line This is the one product I will not be without. An aesthetician used this after a facial and it works miracles on my ruddy areas. My skin tone changed within days and became more even and soft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for perioral dermatitis Bought because I’d heard people say that it was good for perioral dermatitis and they were right. Using it cleared up my angry dermatitis around my mouth, I had to cut all skincare out and switched out my toothpaste too but the combination of that and using this finally got rid of it for me. Can be a bit stingy on application at first and for me it sometimes left a white cast on my skin.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well, start with the tiniest amount! I've been using this on and off since August of 2023 to help with what I suspect is really mild rosacea and skin texture and it definitely helps with both of those. When I use it consistently every night or every other night I do see visible improvement with redness after a few weeks. It was mildly irritating when I first started using it but my skin got used to it quickly, I would suggest using it one night a week and then building up to using it every night or every other night. I use it in the PM after washing my face and you really have to make sure you use a teeny tiny amount by itself or with one other product otherwise it pills like mad. I will spot-treat my T-zone and any spots/pimples with the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%, wait for it to dry down completely, and then apply the Azelaic Acid in veeery small amounts (like less than pea-sized for the whole face) to the areas that need it first in a thin layer. It's quite a thick formula but it spreads nicely and feels nice on the skin. I let that settle in and then apply moisturizer overtop. Overall pretty good product, I like having it in my regimen and I will be buying another once this current one runs out!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Takes some getting used to, but good I bought this a while back, used it once, but then didn't use it again until recently after seeing a youtube video that made me go "Wait, I have something like that, maybe I was using it wrong." I absolutely was using it wrong. I found best use to be on clean skin, and rub it into the spots that need it before doing an all over situation. Once it is "dry" it leaves this super smooth almost primered feeling, and then you can put thins on top. I will say it is drying and a bit itchy, but it is an acid so.... Overall I like it, and I would buy it again but it isn't essential or a daily thing I need or keep on hand.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pilling A lot of people said azelaic helps with Melasma but I haven’t really noticed anything but at the same time I haven’t been consistent with it. And that’s because for some reason when I spread amount on my face it lays well but few hours later like when I wake up my face is all white, crusting, and pilling on the areas I applied the product on. It happens all the time so idk. But I do see it working for minor small dark spots I have so that’s what I been using it for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't make a difference to my skin I used this product everyday for months and saw no improvements. The texture is horrible, almost silicone like.
